Quick Update on the 8th day of the last great race on earth.
Lance Mackey is out of Eagle Island. He is the first one out after a 7 hour rest. There are still 429 miles renaming in the race. The 2nd and 3rd place teams have not taken there 8 hour rest but Jeff King, who is in 6th place, has.
Unfortunately Lance left Eagle Island with only 15 dogs. The trail is starting to take a toll on his team but they are in great position and still very strong.
I just got word Lance fell asleep last night on the trail and missed his turn. This cost him between and hour and an hour and half. Lets hope for a mistake by his nearest competitors.
Be strong Lance and team. The residents of my home are praying for you. I hope the dog that had to get left behind in Eagle Island is not seriously injured and not to heart broken to be left behind.
