Great news from the Iditarod trail!!!!!
This morning Mackey is still in 1st place. Lance and team pulled out of Unalakleet last night at 10:17pm after 7 hours of rest. His nearest competitor, Mitch Seavey, checked into Unalakleet at 9:20pm, a full 6 hours behind Mackey.
The trail was either difficult or Sebastian Schnuelle got lost. It took him 17 hours to do what Mackey and team did in 11 hours.
Jeff King is currently in 7th position.
The coveted Red Lantern goes to Kim Darst again. She checked into Iditarod on 3/15 at 2pm and left on 3/16 at around 2am.
