Mackey and his team are really starting to find their stride. They are a full 5 hours ahead of the second place team. The bad news is the second place team is Jeff King. King is a beast on the trail and no matter how far ahead of him Mackey gets he is always just around the corner. Mackey still has all 16 dogs running in his team.
For the past couple of days I have failed to mention the Red Lantern. At last report Kim Durst has reclaimed the coveted Red Lantern position.
There are several team out of the race:
Bjornar Anderson
Nancy Yoshida
Bob Hickel
With a little over half of the race over I think the teams are doing surprisingly well. There are relatively few teams out of the race.
