It looks like Obama, the great friend of gun owners, has started to show his true colors. I knew it was only a matter of time before the anti gun lobby would come knocking for repayment of the votes they gave him.
The Obama administration will seek to reinstate the assault weapons ban that expired during the Bush administration, Attorney General Eric "Coward" Holder said.
"As President Obama indicated during the campaign, there are just a few gun-related changes that we would like to make, and among them would be to reinstate the ban on the sale of assault weapons," Holder told reporters.
Holder said that putting the ban back in place would not only be a positive move by the United States, it would help cut down on the flow of guns going across the border into Mexico, which is struggling with heavy violence among drug cartels along the border.
"I think that will have a positive impact in Mexico, at a minimum." Holder said.
HELLO Mr. Eric "Coward" Holder, law abiding citizens are not part of the illegal gun trade and they do not participate in violent crimes. It is proven when law abiding citizens are disarmed the criminals become embolden and commit more violent crimes. IMHO it should be mandatory that all law abiding citizens be armed. I feel if criminals knew every citizen had a gun they would be less likely to rob, rape, or assault them.
I personally do not see any use in an assault weapon. I do not and will not own one. That said I would defend the rights of others to own any type of gun they desire. The second amendment does not say "The right to keep and bear any arms except assault weapons". It says "the right to keep and bear arms", PERIOD!
If we sit by and allow the government to take our assault weapons today, tomorrow it will be all semi auto's, then it will be everything that holds more than one round. If you think I am an alarmist just ask the Brits. If the socialist on the left could enslave us today they would but they know we would never stand for it. They have figured out taking small freedoms from us does not cause alarm. The end result is the same, it takes longer but there is little resistance. They are going to continue to steal our freedoms until we finally get tired of it and elect people that respect and adhere to the constitution.
