Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon

Mayor Dixon was scheduled to attend a meeting at the White House today but has been uninvited.

Dixon spokesman Scott Peterson says "a staffer at the U.S. Conference of Mayors contacted the mayor's office Thursday afternoon and said that Dixon could not attend today's gathering".

If you recall Dixon was indicted in January on 12 criminal counts, including stealing gift cards intended for the poor. She, like all Democrats, has professed her innocence.

It is safe to assume Obama does not want to associate with low level criminals. The amount of theft was not in the 6 figures so she is a petty thief by Obama's standards. The Mayor just chose the wrong line of crime. If she had not paid her taxes she would have been appointed to a high level cabinet position. I am sure the Mayor simply misunderstood who the gift cards were intended for.

This is another fine example of the hypocrisy in American politics. If this lady were a Republican she would have been forced out of office the day she was indicted. The argument would have been "she can not govern effectively with these charges over her head".
